Below is a list of helpful resources that our MoneyWise staff and volunteers have compiled to help as you navigate different financial decisions.

Use the debt collector to see your payoff date and test what happens when you pay more each month. The retirement calculator estimates your savings based on what you put away now. The retirement score shows what you may need later, and a planner can give you an exact number. The mortgage calculator estimates a monthly payment and how your down payment changes it.

What this looks like in practice

A parent evening like this one usually runs with a short talk, then table time. You sit with a few other parents and write down what you owe, what you save, and what you spend. You leave with one or two numbers on paper instead of a head full of worry.

The point is not a binder that sits on a shelf. It is knowing your payoff date and your monthly mortgage estimate, so you can plan the week without guessing. Small changes — a set amount toward debt, a set amount into savings — add up. You can ask the staff what fits your situation.
