The word "for" in verse 13 signals a reason. Verses 13–14 rest on verses 1–12. Read through those earlier verses and notice each phrase that begins with "You. " The Lord knows each of us personally and intimately. God created us, so he is present, aware, and active in our lives.
In a classroom, this kind of teaching shows up in ordinary moments. A child paints at the easel and a teacher names what she sees. Children hear that God made them, that he knows them, that he is present. Parents can expect to see this in the artwork sent home and the words teachers use.
